Ralph Ziman’s, The Casspir Project, a fine art exhibition aimed at social and educational engagement, produced by @ARTXIV, debuts today at the First Thursday Art Walk from 5 pm – 10 pm and our neighboring @Taswira.africa gallery through August 25th, free to the public!
Featuring sculpture, photography, film, and installation, this multi-faceted exhibition transforms symbols of oppression into peace and is anchored by Ziman’s 11-ton Casspir military vehicle, covered in 70 million brightly colored glass beads in traditional South African patterns. Further, Ziman, along with artist, Rodney H. King, collaborated to create an anti-gun violence mural in our activated alleyways.
We’re grateful to serve as a haven for the art community and a platform for artists to address important social issues while adding vibrancy to Pioneer Square. #RailSpurSeattle
